Epsom & Ewell Biodiversity Action Plan

Biodiversity is a composite word for Biological Diversity

The importance of biodiversity in particular, and sustainability in general, have been more widely appreciated since the Rio Earth Summit in 1992. As a consequence, the UK produced a national Biodiversity Action Plan, which was followed by County Biodiversity, Habitat and Species Action Plans. Some of these recommended the preparation of local Action Plans. In 2001, Epsom & Ewell Council agreed to support the Open Spaces Group acting as the lead organisation for a Borough Action Plan.

The draft version of the Plan has now been completed.

Chapters include:

April - June 2006 Consultation period.
